BIO Classroom offers a colorful teacher's manual entitled Biography: Experience It!: Using Biography to Inspire Your Students. This Emmy-Award winning teacher's guide geared toward students in grades 6-12 offers a wide range of activities to connect with civics, language arts, drama, social studies and business courses. Divided into four sections, this free guide includes group and individual activities encouraging students to explore significant leaders and personalities. For example, in the "Working with Biography," unit students practice designing a resume, and the "Taking a Stand with Biography" section helps students practice their debate, public speaking, and writing skills. Many of these activities emphasize civic involvement, helping students gain leadership skills and become active in their own communities.
